About North Cascade
Associate Pastor Cliff Keith
Serving the North Cascade SDA Church since March, 2017
Pastor Cliff has a unique background. Being the only Christian in his family, and having served in the U.S. Army for ten years prior to his call into ministry, the correlations between his faith and his training bring an original perspective to the table.
While serving in the Army Infantry as a member of the 3rd Infantry Division, “The Old Guard”, Pastor Cliff was stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia. Considering Fort Myer’s location is but a short jog to the Pentagon, the mission of the soldiers stationed at Fort Myer consisted of supporting civilian agencies in the greater Washington D.C. area. Such support included riot control training, “dirty bomb” response teams, security for city-wide events, and primarily rendering honors for the fallen in Arlington National Cemetery.
During the course of his military career with the Old Guard, Pastor Cliff has rendered honors to over 1000 former soldiers and their families. Additionally, being a part of Echo 1 within the Old Guard, Pastor Cliff, at the height of 6’2", was the shortest member of the platoon. Echo 1 was selected for missions at the White House during the welcoming processes for foreign dignitaries by the President, and the rendering of honors at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.
Furthermore, as a specialized unit in rendering honors, Pastor Cliff was privileged to be a part of the Guard of Honor teams for both President Reagan and Ford’s funerals, respectively in California and Michigan. Pastor Cliff broke service in December 2013 as a Staff Sergeant, certified Drill Instructor, and having earned his Expert Infantryman’s badge.
Following his military service, Pastor Cliff entered into his undergraduate studies at Pacific Union College, where he earned a B.A. in Religion. Following P.U.C., he attended Andrews University where he earned his Masters of Divinity prior to accepting his position as the Associate Pastor for the NCSDA Church.
Pastor Cliff is the father of three amazing boys: Ayden, Liam and Collin.
Cliff’s passion is for the journey of life, but with God at the center; and he hopes to travel along with anyone willing to make the venture home.
