THE CHURCH IN ACTION
through July 23, Youth House
Family Promise is in the Youth House! The program is growing and becoming a strong ministry in our area -- it now has a waiting list for families that would like to participate, and is able to place an average of one family per week in transitional housing and help get them back on their feet. Contact: Linda Foster.
Sabbaths, July 22 at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley and Aug. 19 at Lake Padden in Bellingham

Project Homeless Connect (PHC)
Friday, Aug. 25, Skagit Valley College
We are helping again at PHC by hosting a booth to hand out hand-knitted hats, socks and handi-wipes to help those in need. Please go to skagitprojecthomelessconnect.org/volunteer and sign in to be sure you are cleared to participate. Also contact Cindy Hartley to arrange your time slot at the booth. Donate all sizes of socks and hats, and travel-sized handi-wipes in the foyer.
Directory :: Family Photos
July 8 to Aug. 12
Say "cheese" in the foyer! Photographers will be available to take your family's picture for the new church directory, which will be published in late August. If you prefer to submit a photo rather than have one taken, you may email it to the church office. Please make sure it is square and includes heads/shoulders only. We want to be able to see your faces!
Please also keep an eye out for a directory update page in your box -- check it to be sure we have your best contact information. There will also be blank forms available in the foyer. Contact Kristie Lindell at the church office, 360-757-7577 or email@example.com, with questions.
Suicide Awareness Event
Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 to 8:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall
Celebrate Recovery, partnering with NCSDA and Jake’s House church, will prepare members of our community to identify people with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first-aid resources. Anyone over the age of 15 is welcome. More information soon!
Sunday, Sept. 10, noon to 4 p.m., NCSDA
We want to get to know our neighbors! Invite your friends and family to come visit us for a fun afternoon of great food, games, music, and more. We need volunteers to make this a great day. Please contact Kristie Lindell in the church office, 360-757-7577, for more information.
Small Groups Starting - Looking for Leaders
This fall, we start several “free market” groups to foster friendships and have fun. Each session will last 8-12 weeks and is focused on an interest or topic. Please consider leading a group. For info, see the flyers in your box or contact Pastor Marcia Stone.

Pastor Ofa schedule
Pastor Ofa will be ministering at Evangelism meetings in Tonga this summer, and will be gone from July 23 to Aug. 20. If you have a pastoral need, you may contact one of our other pastors, or you may also contact an elder or the church office. Please keep Pastor Ofa in your prayers that he has a successful and safe mission, and also pray for his family while he is gone.
