Betty Curtis Memorial Service
October is Pastor Appreciation month. Our amazing pastors do so much to shepherd us, support us and lead us towards God. Let’s show them just how much we love them! It doesn’t have to be fancy, and there are lots of ideas online if you are stumped for a good plan.

Make a Difference Day - WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
Sunday, Oct.15, 9 a.m., Mount Vernon
Paint, dig, bake, weed, and more! Help with one of several community outreach projects in Mount Vernon. See the signups in the foyer for details and to see how you can join in these projects (hint: it is not just yard work—there are lots of options for everyone!)
- Family Shelter: trimming bushes, painting foyer, replacing a gate support
- Love INC Transitional House: yard work, remove and replace gravel, install a gate
- Bake some treats: to bring to police, sheriff's office, fire departments and hospitals.
FREE Recovery Coach Academy
October 16-19, 9 to 4 p.m., Fellowship Hall
Become a Recovery Coach and help someone be successful in their recovery. Lift someone up and give them hope! RCA is for those in recovery (at least a year), professionals, counselors, parents, siblings (over 18), and community members who want to be part of the solution. This class is normally $800, but is offered free from a Washington State Dept of Behavioral Health grant (normally it is $800), and is worth 30 CEU credits. Contact Darci Ridenhour to register. Skagit Adventist Academy Senior Class Pancake Breakfast
Thursdays, 7:15 to 7:45 a.m., SAA Gym
The Senior class continues their tradition of serving a pancake breakfast every week for only $5. Come support their class and have a hearty breakfast every Thursday. Bring a guest too!

Timberwolf Country Fair

Support our kids at a fun evening of family games, an obstacle course, face painting, plus baked goods, veggie burgers, corn dogs, and lots more. It is free to attend, and game tickets sold in increments of .25 support school programs.

KOTF (Keepers of the Faith) Gospel Quartet

KOTF brings the deep south island flavor and a taste of the oldies but goodies to the genre of Southern Gospel music. They will perform a free concert in the afternoon. Admission is free, although free-will offering will be collected, and cds will be for sale after the concert.

Holiday food basket ministry -- October food of the month
To prepare for holiday food baskets, please consider donating canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, or cranberry sauce. Donations may be left in the office or the basket labeled “Food Basket” in the foyer. This list is a suggestion and any donations are appreciated.
We are still collecting restaurant gift cards for Julie's family to support them while she is sick. Please bring them to the church office and we will take them to the family. Please also include the Dawsons in your prayers.
